Terms of service
Last updated 21 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between your practice and [Company name] Ltd for the use of Verrin. By creating an account you accept them on behalf of your practice.
1. Who can use Verrin
Verrin is for businesses, mainly accounting and bookkeeping practices. You must be at least 18 and have authority to accept these terms for your practice. Consumer protection law that applies only to consumers doesn't apply to this agreement.
2. Your account
You're responsible for everyone you invite to your practice and for what they do in it. Keep sign-in details secure and tell us straight away at hello@verrin.co.uk if you think your account has been misused.
3. Free trial
New practices get a 30-day free trial with no card required. At the end of the trial you can choose a paid plan. If you don't, your account becomes read-only, and we delete it 90 days later unless you subscribe.
4. Plans and payment
- Prices are shown on our pricing page and exclude VAT, which is added at the standard rate.
- Monthly plans are billed monthly in advance and can be cancelled at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current month.
- Annual plans are paid upfront for 12 months and are not refundable part-way through, except where these terms say otherwise.
- Your price depends on your number of active clients. If you go over your plan's limit, we'll move you to the right plan from your next billing date.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. New prices apply from your next renewal.
5. Your data
Your practice owns the data it puts into Verrin. You give us permission to host and process it only to provide the service.
For your clients' personal data, your practice is the controller and we are the processor. We will:
- process it only on your documented instructions
- keep it confidential and secure
- use only the sub-processors listed in our privacy policy, and tell you before we add a new one
- help you respond to data subject requests and data breaches
- delete or return it when you close your account, unless the law requires us to keep it
You're responsible for having a lawful basis to store your clients' data and for meeting your own obligations, including anti-money laundering record keeping.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use Verrin for anything unlawful or fraudulent
- upload malware or try to break, overload or probe the service
- try to access another practice's data or bypass security controls
- send spam or unsolicited marketing through the service
- resell or copy Verrin without our written permission
We may suspend an account that breaks these rules or puts the service or other customers at risk. Where we can, we'll warn you first.
7. ID and AML checks
Identity and anti-money laundering checks are run by third-party providers. Results help you meet your obligations, but you remain responsible for your own customer due diligence and risk assessments.
8. The Verrin Assistant
The Verrin Assistant uses AI to answer questions and suggest actions. Its answers can be wrong, so check anything important. It never changes your data without you confirming the action first.
9. Other services
Integrations with services such as Xero, GoCardless, Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 are governed by those providers' own terms. We aren't responsible for their services or for changes they make that affect an integration.
10. Availability and support
We aim to keep Verrin available at all times and will give notice of planned maintenance where we can. Support is by email on UK working days.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't legally be limited.
Otherwise, neither of us is liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue or goodwill. Each party's total liability under this agreement in any 12-month period is limited to the fees your practice paid us in that period.
12. Ending the agreement
You can close your account at any time by emailing hello@verrin.co.uk. We can end the agreement with 30 days' notice, or straight away if you seriously break these terms. After closure you have 30 days to export your data, after which we delete it as described in our privacy policy.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll email account owners at least 30 days before a significant change takes effect. If you don't agree, you can close your account before then.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
